Writers’ Night
February 3, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Open Mic Nights and Writer’s Nights are opportunities for aspiring songwriters, singers, soon-to-be-stars and people who want their songs to be heard to showcase their talents to a local following.
Tennessee Jack’s co-owner, Dean Hitt, has some experience in how Writers’ Nights work. He grew up on Nashville’s Music Row and spent years in and out of some of that city’s most famous listening rooms, including The Bluebird Café and The Exit Inn.
According to Hitt, Open Mic and Writers’ Nights are a very important first step for almost all successful music artists.
“When we first looked at this space,” Hitt says, “it hit me as perfect not only for great dining areas but for developing a wonderful listening environment. It reminded me of several of the spaces in Nashville that have been successful in helping to launch some pretty spectacular careers in Country Music.”
“That’s what we have in mind for our Writers’ Nights at Tennessee Jack’s”, he says. “With Kenny Chesney hailing from Luttrell, The Band Perry from Greeneville, Rodney Atkins from Cumberland Gap, we know there are a lot more people within an hour’s drive of Morristown who have that degree of talent. We want to provide them with a place to showcase it.”
Tennessee Jack’s “On The Town,” which opened in April in Morristown, is an East-Tennessee-themed casual dining restaurant that features wings, shrimp, fresh oysters and seafood, as well as meat & two lunch specials. It includes private dining for 50, a backroom bar and outdoor patio seating for 110, which is where Writer’s Nights will be hosted.
People interested in appearing at Tennessee Jack’s Writers’ Nights should call the restaurant at 423-616-0911 or email their information to [email protected].
